What is SEO?
SEO is an acronym that stands for “Search Engine Optimization.” So, now as the name says it all, it is a process to optimize the search engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo, Microsoft Edge, etc. and to provide you the best and relevant organic results to your search on the search engines.
It is a method to optimize your website in such a way that search engines can understand and know your sites in a much better way. When people across the world find anything over search engines, they will see your website link on the top position if your SEO is active for that particular search term.
So better SEO will give you best results on your site. But to better the SEO of your site, you need to follow many guidelines that will rank your website higher in the search engine results. You need to perform various tasks to get the best possible results for the SEO of your site.
Various tasks to be carried out to get the best Search Engine Optimization results-
1. CMS optimization
2. Keyword Research
3. On Page Optimization
4. Off Page Optimization
So let’s move to the tasks and know what they are…
1. CMS Optimization
This is the whole new method which is also as important these days as all other duties are. By CMS I mean Content Management System, as I am using WordPress on this website and all others too. It is very much important to make your CMS SEO friendly so that it helps you to get ranked and give both search engine bots/spiders and your visitors the better navigation experience so that they can enter deep into your website very quickly.
CMS optimization includes good permalink structure for all your posts/articles, installation & use of best plugins, and overall making your CMS SEO friendly.
2. Keywords Research
After you make your CMS SEO friendly, the next step is to write a quality content but before that do you know how to write a quality content. If hell no, then there comes task number two “Keyword Research.” It is a simple method of understanding the main keyword or search term about which you are going to write about in your article.
By keyword research you get to know about the competition on that particular keyword, the number of visitors that keyword calls up and what will be the CPC (Cost Per Click) on that.
So you have to choose a few keywords by researching on them and then use them in your content which has to be a quality content.
3. On Page SEO
After you had done all kind of research and note down a few or some weak competition, highly searched keywords (don’t go for CPC if you are a newbie) all you need is to use those keywords and the synonyms of those keywords in your article, and that will help in SEO. Remember Google says “Content is King.”
So write the quality content with your main keyword in it and then use H1, H2, and H3 headings in your article, do proper image optimization by the use of Alt tags in your all images. If possible make your keywords bold, Italic or Underline them and use them properly don’t stuff the article with keywords only as that will hurt your website.
Use a creative and eye – catching headline, fill up the best description for your story, and use related tags (only 4 or 5) and then just publish the article.
4. Off Page SEO
You wrote an excellent good quality content and post it with proper image optimization technique, now what, it is not the end of SEO yet. Why just sit back and waste time when you wrote the best quality content then use the “Off Page SEO” task and give your website a chance to rank even faster and higher. Off Page SEO targets the social engagement of your post on various social networking sites like facebook, twitter, google plus, Reddit, etc.
Apart from that spend some time for searching out the list of high PR blog commenting sites and start commenting on them and do same with the social bookmarking, web 2.0, article submission, and various other social sharing techniques. But always find the high PR and valuable sites to do social sharing and make useful and relevant to blog comments.
So now don’t just read this SEO guide, but start implementing the above tasks/techniques to get the results.
